Josh was raised in Midland, Michigan and later moved to a small town outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he worked at a branch of a large architecture and engineering firm serving primarily clients with school, government and other institutional projects. Josh was drawn back to the Midwest by fond memories of visits to Chicago and the city’s rich, vibrant urban buildings and strong, healthy neighborhoods. He enjoyed the transition to the small firm environment at Foster Dale Architects, particularly their continued attention to sustainable design and the opportunity to focus on all aspects of the firm’s variety of projects.
Josh lives in the Bucktown neighborhood on the North Side of Chicago with his wife, who recently graduated from DePaul University’s Master of Education program. He loves living close enough to ride his bike to work (or to the lake), and has a habit of stopping to admire interesting buildings while out exploring local shops and restaurants with his wife and toddler son. He enjoys working on projects for his house, tracking housing & real estate trends and studying how technology influences buildings and how people interact with their environment.
