Mixed-Use & Multi-Unit
Welles Park Townhomes
Urban Infill Townhouse Development
The developers of this "urban infill" townhouse development were looking for a design that linked the character of the existing single-family residences to the south with the more urban mixed-use buildings to the north along Lincoln Avenue near Welles Park in Chicago. The brick and stone materials, the architectural massing and the generously proportioned entrances evoke older vintage townhouses without being literally historical. Each townhouse has a similar approach to the adjacent houses with a rear yard and a two-car garage.
FDA helped the client to win approval for the project from the neighborhood association and zoning relief from the City of Chicago. The Chicago Association of Realtors awarded this project their Good Neighbor Award in 2004.
