Chicago Residence - New Construction
Single-Family on Greenview
The developers for this speculative project recognized a need in the local market for a modern single-family home with clean lines and crisp, efficient design. Expansive glass at the front and rear contributes to the modern aesthetic and pulls in as much natural light as possible. The exterior material palette of limestone, fiber cement panels, and natural hardwood at the exterior was selected for attractiveness and durability.
The developers also appreciated the value that including a roof deck brings by adding an abundance of outdoor space to a shorter than average Chicago lot. The roof deck is accessed through a large, light-filled 3rd floor room, and a fire sprinkler system throughout the house allows for a single stair. The stair is centrally located at the 2nd floor, 1st floor and basement, which allows for full width rooms at both the front and rear of the house. This project was permitted using the City of Chicago Self-certification program, which saves time over a conventional permit review from the city. FDA is proud to participate in the Self-certification program and to offer our clients the option for this streamlined permitting process.
