Vacation House in the Trees

Renovation of a Woodland Retreat / Sawyer, Michigan

The new owners of this small house (located near Lake Michigan) asked FDA to help them to update it for use as a weekend/family retreat. The interior scope of work included updating the kitchen and bathroom, installing new floors and replacing the doors and trim for a clean, fresh look. The windows and exterior siding were also replaced and the entire exterior re-sided with new trim. FDA designed a new elevated rear screen porch and deck, overlooking a ravine, so that the family and their guests can enjoy the breezes and woodland setting.
