LOGAN SQUARE RENOVATION

Our clients and owners of this vintage 3-story single-family residence on a large lot in Logan Square, approached FDA with an interest in targeted interventions to the interior spaces of their home. The primary goal was a new, functional kitchen for both large gatherings and intimate family dinners. The combined kitchen and breakfast room at the rear of the house serve them well functionally and create a transition from the interior of the home to the large rear deck and yard/garden. The kitchen and breakfast room are outfitted with custom Italian cabinetry by Valcucine, a custom ventilation system, high-end appliances, and fixtures while the remainder of the house is treated as a neutral backdrop for their carefully curated art collection.

The project scope also included lowering the basement slab and a fully finished basement providing additional living space, updated mechanical systems and a guest bedroom suite. A new interior stair to the basement was incorporated and the rear deck is being updated and reconfigured to improve the flow between the interior and exterior allowing for easy entertaining of family and friends.
