PROPOSED MIXED USE

New Mixed-Use Retail and Apartment Building / Chicago, Illinois

This new building on Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago is a mixed-use project that includes retail (potentially a restaurant) on the first floor and six two-bedroom apartments above. The brick building is sited next to a vacated street that is to be turned into a neighborhood park and sculpture garden that each occupant of the building will be able to enjoy. An early concept proposed two buildings of similar character, one on each side of the park. Although external factors have impacted development, plans are in place for a single building that will still optimize the impact of the adjacent open space for building occupants.
